Department of Nuclear Medicine at Narayana Health offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The department is equipped with a State-of-the-Art Gamma Camera (SPECT CT), stress laboratory and PET CT.
Currently we also have a well designed Radio Iodine therapy ward for treating patients with Thyroid cancer. We have qualified and experienced consultants and technical staff offering various services to patients.
urgical oncology provides organ preservation surgery, minimally invasive endoscopic laser surgery and gamma probe guided sentinel lymph node localization technique. The radiation therapy service has modern linear accelerators with targeted conformal radiotherapy. The medical oncology offers modern chemo-radiotherapy protocols including regional intra-arterial chemotherapy and targeted molecular therapy.
The head and neck oncology service also has a cancer screening and prevention clinic which utilizes modern molecular biology assays to detect sub-clinical diseases and to identify individuals with genetic susceptibility for head and neck cancer. The high-risk individuals are offered chemoprevention and support to minimize risk factors.
We have a dedicated research team that investigates novel means for early detection of cancer, understanding cancer at the molecular level, and targeting critical molecules involved in cancer development.
The mission of Head and Neck oncology department is to provide a one-stop comprehensive care for patients with head and neck cancers. A multidisciplinary team of globally recognized head and neck, and reconstructive surgeons strive to provide treatment optimised for complete tumour ablation followed by restoration of form and function. The department works closely with departments of radiation oncology, medical oncology, pathology, radiology and pain management to deliver State-of-the-Art treatment. Special emphasis is given to quality of life and functional rehabilitation of cancer patients.
The head and neck oncology also has a cancer screening and prevention clinic, which besides routine clinical and pathological tests also actively utilises modern molecular assay and imaging techniques for early detection and prevention of cancer in high-risk individuals. The department also runs an active community outreach programme for early detection and prevention of cancer.
The department has molecular research laboratory with focus on cancer stem cells, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) genome sequencing, prognostic and therapeutic markers.
